Chef-proprietor of Akar Dining — “akar” means roots in Malay — an intimate counter-style restaurant in Taman Tun Dr Ismail built on seasonal Malaysian terroir and root-to-shoot cooking. Trained in Osaka and Lyon before returning to Kuala Lumpur, he earned Akar its first MICHELIN Star in the 2026 guide along with Tatler innovation recognition.
